Sliding tunnel doors

  • Merford tunnel doors are available as MHC type 1 and 2 sliding doors. These tunnel doors meet the strict requirements of the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management. These requirements, which are a lot stricter than the NEN standards, stipulate that the door has to be fire-resistant for two hours at a temperature of 1350 °C and a very rapid increase in temperature.

    The MHC 1 type door meets the 120 minutes fire resistance requirement in accordance with the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management time temperature curve. MHC 2 type doors are even fire-resistant for 180 minutes in accordance with the same curve. This type is also airtight and can be fitted to the fire side of the door.

    Other properties are:

  • Flame-tight: 180 minutes
  • Thermally insulated against radiation: 180 minutes
  • Smoke-tight in accordance with NEN 6075: 270 minutes
